Das Eichmann Kabinett

Peter Palmboom

The Eichmann cabinet is full of hard-working officers who in their zealous dedication carry a country to its grave, and with it those who make up its fabric, the people and their stories and what they perceived their reality to be - with the sure exeption of the cabinet's members and their ten plus percent ilk of course. While the financial Eichmänner bleed ordinary families dry and then squeeze them some more to make sure there will be no recovery, the Eichfrau and her policing Eichburschen are on a prohibition spree. Every week there's a new sadistic ploy to make the impoverished bend to their masters' smelly feet. Latest victims are all women, who once again have to give up their reproductive copyrights to the primarily male control industry. Jurabursche, in an earlier life known as a reasonably modern conservative, sternly pushed protests aside with little more for an explanation than the majority he felt behind him. Bildungbursche, without fresh scandals lately, continues to irritate everybody who happens to get to deal with him, proudly presenting his uniquely selfish stance: I've got the power. And Lola Eichmann, from her fading position outside the inner power circle, has called for open war against the certain region. Lots of strong language in the Eichmann family these days.

The Eichmann boss is Gauleiter Inler for sure, in the guise of the friendly bearded fool. It is completely impossible to even guess whether the man is an innocuous idiot or a mean sell-out of the motherland he blabbermouthingly claims to love. Inler himself is indebted to Führer International, fairness demands. Führer International is all about distraction. Nobody really knows them, yet everybody gets to feel the pain they randomly inflict. FI have elected our particular production zone to go into extermination mode, along with a host of others (many of whom have had to be dealing with the excessive use of farce since time forgotten, lest we forget). But it was certainly an unexpected and unpleasant experience to be once again listed among the downers after thirty years on the up. Now they want fracking in as well. Gotta kill the countryside. Secret trade deals are to make local law give way to foreign investment whims any time soon. Accepting not always coherent pleas for regional independence as a means of breaking free from the Führer International stranglehold under these circumstances suddenly doesn't seem so strange anymore.

What drives these individuals, one wonders. It is clear they have no choice but to accept the rule given them - there's always someone higher up in this game - but there seems to be certain freedom at how members hand out the pain. So why this deep need to hurt a happy people, a well-educated people, helpful by heart and ever more able to help themselves thanks to a modern, open-minded style of living for the last couple decades? Mental freedom is what you find in successful cities like London and Berlin and it's the first requirment in competing for financial interests. Why attack just that? Hurt them into outcasts? The sheer immorality of this tactic which never had any support – certainly not from their many lowpaid voters – is hard to swallow. Let's take their rights away. The women, the youths, the workers, the pensioners, the dwellers, the sick and the disabled. Let's take away there possessions, let's get them on their knees, all of them who don't have the personal money to escape our ordeal. And meanwhile make sure their own were on board, of course.

How can one be so out of touch with what is going on in the world? Is their thinking festered in a hatred for everything and anybody that escaped their former control perhaps? For they are the sons and daughters of the old garde, if only by conviction. Why couldn't they minimally hook on with their neighbours and try to survive? Why make it worse? It all sounds so american. Americans have been fucking with their country for quite some time now and what you hear don't paint very good. We're on the same track it seems and most of us don't like it. So we want out. Some of us are actively trying to squeeze our way out.

Yet, they are stupid. That's perhaps the most amazing part: how such immoral people can be oblivious to other people's needs. They are bad for no particular reason. They apparently just hammer away their verdicts as befalls their turn, simply cut and insult. We feel what the bull feels when they stab him in the neck. The insult. And now they are threatening the rebellious region with expulsion if they continue pretending to opt out. Expelled from the union, unwritten from the treaty, even put under ban by the organisation! In what reality these people live, one wonders. Don't they know the vast majority of the centrifugally inclined would love to get out of the union before it's too late, have never wanted to be part of the treaty because of membership's highly damaging moral implications, and have always believed the org for all its beautifully worded principles to have been abused from its inception as an instrument for imperialism, in quite a similar manner as the more straightforward money institutions? Do they honestly believe we don't see? Is their educational reform, in close harmony with voices calling for a full recentralisation of the schools' curriculum, mostly meant to erradicate the last remains of wisdom and intelligent thinking within the general public? Do they think they will get away with that? Can anybody really be so blindingly arrogant?

So many unanswered questions leave the people figuring for themselves their ultimate insecurity: when will it affect me? Whereas the bold resist to their ultimate demise, most of us have families to protect. The Eichmänner are aware of this. They know they can rely on the support of those who won't be long, the old and the scared. It has always been like that. This is a game for the brave to play and the cowards to spoil, with the public wishing it could be over soon. Meanwhile, things are likely worse by that time.

The final question should perhaps not be why are we running away but rather who are willing to join us to create something better than this?

With love,

Peter Palmboom
